West Ham And Leicester Recent Form
Leicester have won five of seven games since the sacking of Claude Puel, with their last match – against the defensively sound Newcastle – the first time where they’ve failed to find a route through to goal.
West Ham can’t boast such a watertight backline as the Magpies however, and it’s now four defeats from five outings as they’ve conceded at least twice in each of these games.
Although the last three came against a rejuvenated Everton and then in tough away trips to Chelsea and Man Utd, the first two games over this period saw them lose 2-0 at Cardiff and then just scrape a 4-3 victory over a woeful Huddersfield outfit, relying upon three goals within the final 15 minutes to salvage the situation.
No Incentive Left For West Ham
The Hammers appear to be limping to the finish line with nothing left to play for, whereas Leicester’s players seem eager to impress new boss Brendan Rodgers and there was no lack of effort when hosting Newcastle.
Rafa Benitez set his team out with a deep defensive line to limit opportunities for Jamie Vardy to run in behind, something Manuel Pellegrini rarely instructs his charges to do, and so it would be little surprise to see the Foxes fill their shooting boots and record a third win from four unbeaten trips to face West Ham since 2015/16.
West Ham v Leicester Betting Tips
While Leicester deservedly start as favourites, they’re unlikely to produce another low-scoring affair like their last outing and indeed, they’ve only kept the solitary clean sheet in 14 outings across all competitions.
Likewise, the Hammers have just the one shut out in 13 appearances of their own, as both teams even failed to prevent lower league opposition finding the net in the FA Cup across these matches. With that in mind, we like the prices surrounding the correct score.
For all their poor showings, West Ham have only shipped more than two goals in one of their last 10 outings, while Leister have managed to score more than twice in just two of their last 11 – against relegated duo Fulham and Huddersfield.
