Masters Build-Up Continues
We are now just three weeks from the players driving down Magnolia Lane for the 83rd edition of the Masters. (Masters Odds here) After his stellar finish on Sunday Rory Mcilroy is now the odds-on favourite at 8,50 for this year’s first major.
Even though Rory is not teeing it up this this week, Valspar can boast of a stronger feel than some thought after getting squeezed between The PLAYERS and the WGC Match Play after the formers move back to March.
The Copperhead course at Innisbrook Resort is some of an outlier on the PGA TOUR. Where most courses now a days puts a premium on driving distance the course located in Palm Harbor, Florida is a second shot golf course in the truest sense of the word. Not only does the course have 5(!) par 3s and an average driving distance almost 15 yards shorter than tour average it also has some of the smaller greens players will face all year.

So, taking this into consideration who are some of the players that could be worth placing a few quid on this week.
Coming off a very respectable defence of his PLAYERS title (T16) and gaining strokes on approach in 8 of his last 9 starts I have no qualms backing Webb at a course he has 3 top 10s in his last 7 starts.
The PGA TOUR rookie has really gotten his career at the highest level of to a flying start with 3 top 10s already this year. The South Korean youngster seems to be a well-rounded player if we look at the stats from his first 17 tour starts. He is gaining strokes against the field both off the tee and around the green. As mentioned, approach will be the key stat to look at this week and the 20-year-old has gained against the feel in 10 of the 14 tournaments we have stats from so far this season.
Staying with South Korean rookies Kyoung-hoon had some of a rough start on the main tour, but after missing 8 of his first 12 cuts he has now 3 top 35 finishes in a row cumulating with a 7th in his last start at the Honda Classic. His approach game has been fire for the last two tournaments gaining 6,9 and 5,4 shots against the field.
