Netherlands v France Goalscorer Odds
There were high hopes for Memphis Depay following some excellent displays under Luis van Gaal at the 2014 World Cup, but his subsequent move to Old Trafford never saw him perform to the same level, with a move to Lyon necessary to kick-start his career. However, he’s since flourished in Ligue 1, where he’s even scored or assisted more goals than either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe since the start of 2018. He comes into this encounter fresh from a brace for Lyon on the road at Guingamp, while he’s actually either scored or set up 14 goals in 16 appearances for the national side since November 2016 – with seven goals in his last 11.
Slovakia v Ukraine Goalscorer Odds
Ukraine are unbeaten since the end of the World Cup qualification process, winning six of nine matches including all three on home turf. They are without West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko however, which is a huge loss as the winger holds a fantastic record of 36 goals in 80 games for the national side. He’s out for the season with an achilles tendon injury, but that should open up some value for their other potential goalscorers. Only one other player has more than three goals in the squad selected for their clashes with Slovakia and Turkey, 18-goal Yevhen Konoplyanka, and the Schalke man will be expected to provide the cutting edge. He’s had a hand in 10 goals (five scored and five assisted) in his last 14 appearances for the Ukraine, with four of those five scored coming at away or neutral venues.
Wales v Denmark Goalscorer Odds
While this game hasn’t got goals written all over it, there are two key protagonists that will be expected to deliver should both take to the field. Gareth Bale faces a late fitness test however, and with that in mind we’d prefer to turn our attentions to Christian Eriksen. The Spurs playmaker has an incredible record for the Danes since June 2016, netting 13 times in 16 appearances, including both goals in the reverse fixture back in September. He’s opened the scoring in four of the last six in which he found the net, and given this ought to be a low-scoring affair, he’s well placed to draw first blood. Indeed, the Danes have been quickest off the mark in each of their last seven matches where there was at least one goal (excluding a defeat to Slovakia where they fielded a team of amateurs).
Slovenia v Norway Goalscorer Odds
Norway have won seven out of eight matches in 2018, but while they’ve netted 13 times across these games they’re hardly reliant on a star striker, with as many as nine different goalscorers. Bournemouth’s Joshua King is out injured, leaving no one in the Norwegian squad with more than nine goals to their name. LA Galaxy’s Ola Kamara is back in the squad and will feel he ought to be handed greater opportunities, especially after netting a hat-trick against Australia on his last start for the national side back in March. The alternative replacement for King – Alexander Sorloth – has just two goals in 15 caps and lacks match fitness after barely featuring for Crystal Palace since arriving in South London at the start of last season. Kamara has also netted five times in his last six appearances for LA Galaxy, and on current form should be aiming to get his name on the scoresheet.
Cyprus v Bulgaria Goalscorer Odds
22-year-old Kiril Despodov was promoted to the senior side ahead of their inaugural UEFA Nations League campaign after netting seven times in nine games for the under 21’s. He netted in the reverse of this fixture as Bulgaria ran out 2-1 winners, while Cyprus hold the joint-worst defence in Group C3, with only Lithuania shipping more in League C. He now has four goals in six outings for club and country, including in both of CSKA Sofia’s last two matches, and should fancy his chances of registering again having started all four of Bulgaria’s matches to date.
