It is difficult to see anything other than a Juventus win in the first Derby della Mole of the season in Serie A this weekend. Juve are still unbeaten with 14-wins from their first 15-games, although they are facing a Torino team that is performing better than they have done for a few seasons. Form Labs bring you their betting preview and tips for the game and if you are looking for some more betting value for the weekend then why not check out our selection of enhanced odds from Europe’s top leagues.
Juventus Dominant In The Derby Della Mole
Juve have won 11 of the 13 Turin derbies across all competitions since Torino were promoted back to the Italian top division for the 2012/13 season, keeping a clean sheet in seven of these including both last term. They’ve given their local rivals a few battering’s in recent times as they’ve scored four goals in three of the last six, though the most recent clash saw Juve triumph just 1-0 at the Olimpico Grande Torino back in February.
That’s the only encounter these two have played out since Walter Mazzarri took charge of the hosts, and six of his seven defeats at the hands of Juve as a manager have seen his team fail to score – with five of these finishing either 1-0 or 2-0.
The Old Lady are entitled to be short price favourites, but we’re not convinced that they’ll return to four-goal hauls in this fixture just yet. Only Cagliari and Udinese fans have witnessed fewer goals than Torino’s supporters in their teams’ matches so far this term, with Mazzarri’s side netting the least of anyone in the top nine but also shipping fewer than anyone bar the top three.
Torino v Juventus Betting Tips
Juve have won to nil in five of their last six across all competitions, including against the likes of Milan, Valencia, Fiorentina and Inter, with each of those Italian sides outgunning Torino this season. They’ve also won to nil in four of their last five road trips in Serie A, including three that finished 2-0.
In fact, the Bianconeri have scored precisely twice in five of their last six on their travels, and with that in mind, the 2-0 correct score holds a healthy price.
