Legends from all over the footballing world will gather in Glasgow in January for the FansBet Star Sixes, and in the lead up to the event they’ll also be taking on the FansBet #3TouchChallenge.
Foot to knee to head – it’s simple enough on paper, but how will Robert Pires, his fellow Star Sixes competitors, and you at home get on? The aim is to complete as many three-touch circuits without the ball hitting the floor, and the World Cup and Premier League winner is first up.
Over the coming weeks, in the lead-up to January’s event at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, more Star Sixes players will be taking on the challenge to try and beat Pires’ score. You can send in your own attempts too, posting on Twitter to @fans_bet with the hashtag #3TouchChallenge.

After the success of the inaugural event at London’s O2 Arena in 2017, FansBet Star Sixes comes to Glasgow from January 4-6 with all-star teams from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Wales and the Rest of the World competing.
Former Arsenal and France star Pires will be captaining a Rest of the World team that also includes Jay-Jay Okocha, Ronald de Boer, and Gaizka Mendieta, to name but a few.
They’ll face stiff competition from the Home Nations’ teams though. England’s boast nearly 20 major trophies between them, with Michael Owen, Emile Heskey, and David James all set to represent their nation again after amassing over 200 caps for the Three Lions between them during their professional careers.
The legends don’t stop there, with Barry Ferguson captaining a Scotland side that includes current national team assistant manager James McFadden. Niall Quinn will represent the Republic of Ireland, and former Fulham and Birmingham City man Maik Taylor will be between the sticks for Northern Ireland.
