The Hibs’ faithful are singing about “Hecky being at the wheel” to the tune of The Stone Roses’ ‘Waterfall’. The song has been quietly stolen from Manchester United who are really the only ones with the divine right to sing any Roses song.

Sunday sees the meeting of the two in-form teams in Scotland and, though we dominated our recent Scottish Cup tie at the same venue, Hibs have gotten used to their new manager’s systems and methods since then. This tie is now daunting for the travelling Hoops.

Celtic turned in their best performance under Neil Lennon last week at Hampden. The doubts of pervious weeks have been dispelled and the relentless focus returned.

Our away form has been poor all season and the loss of Ryan Christie’s energy and creativity will be missed in Edinburgh. He will be replaced by Tom Rogic who has a more languid style but is capable of the spectacular, and I reckon that might be needed in a tight game.

A string of strong results has seen Hibs rise to a top six place in the SPFL, moving above their city rivals into fifth place. With only two defeats coming since the beginning of February, there will be a positive mood in the Easter Road camp. Celtic continue to keep their winning run going away from home after a fine performance against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Neil Lennon has found a formula that is getting results in our away matches where teams are less likely to pack their defence, and,  depending on results the previous day, Celtic could be crowned champions with a win at Easter Road. With so many options available middle-to-front, Celtic will make chances in what should be an open match.
