Kilmarnock v Dundee Betting Tips
Killie found their stay at the top brief as they were crushed 5-1 at Celtic Park, but you don’t have to play teams of that quality every week and indeed, Steve Clarke’s side now face a rather different assignment altogether. Dundee may be on their best run of the season as they’ve drawn three of four unbeaten matches, but three of these came against bottom-half outfits, while three were also on home turf.
The visitors have lost five of seven road trips this season, including a pair of 4-0 defeats at both Rangers and Livingston, and with only the Old Firm duo outgunning Killie, that could spell problems for Jim McIntyre and his men. Indeed, the hosts have only failed to find the net once in their last 14 matches, while they’ve netted at least twice in eight of their nine victories this term. Having kept clean sheets in their previous four matches before getting torn apart by Celtic, we’re not too concerned by that one result, especially as Killie have won nine of 10 unbeaten matches hosting bottom-half teams since Clarke took the reins.
St Mirren v Aberdeen Betting Tips
St. Mirren have sunk to the bottom of the standings following their latest defeat at Livingston, which was the eighth time in 10 games where they conceded at least twice. Even at home where they’ve accumulated seven of their nine points this term, they’ve still lost five of their last six, with the exception versus a Hearts side that went temporarily off the rails over the course of November.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen have won five of their last seven including a victory at Ibrox in their last road trip. They’ve also played promoted St. Mirren three times since the start of last season in all competitions, winning 4-1 twice and 4-0 on the other occasion. Moreover, the Dons are a very healthy W14-D2-L1 against bottom-four outfits since the start of last season, and so it’s hard to look past the visitors when facing such dreadful opponents.
St. Johnstone v Motherwell Betting Tips
St. Johnstone have been gradually climbing the table and find themselves just three points shy of second-placed Rangers, while they hold a game in hand over the two teams directly above them, Hearts and Killie. They’ve now won six of eight unbeaten matches, with the stalemates against those two sides, while they’ve kept a clean sheet in all but one of these fixtures as they’ve really tightened up at the back since the October international break.
Motherwell had appeared to get their season going with three wins in four outings, though two of these three-pointers came over the bottom two and it proved a false dawn, as they’ve now lost two of their subsequent three winless matches. They’ve beaten the bottom two on their travels this season, but they can’t seem to hack it against the better sides, losing their other six trips by an aggregate score of 17-2, while also trailing at the break in each of these games.
