Aberdeen v St Johnstone Betting Tips
Aberdeen did well to beat a Rangers side in fantastic form and to do so at Ibrox was even better, especially having had Sam Cosgrove sent off as early as the 34th minute. That’s now four wins from their last five as they’re in the best form they’ve been in all season, though St. Johnstone aren’t in bad nick themselves. The visitors may have slowed down with draws against Killie and Hearts in their last two, though they’d won their previous five matches even if the fixture list wasn’t all that daunting – with each of those wins against bottom half outfits.
St. Johnstone have been difficult to break down as the two goals Hearts scored against them last time out was the first time in their unbeaten run of seven games where they’d conceded, though their previous three matches saw them concede five, two and six against Rangers, Hearts and Celtic respectively. In other words, their kind fixture list of late has aided their defence. They’ve lost all three road trips to top-half sides to date, while by contrast Aberdeen have emerged victorious in each of their last four on home turf.
Celtic v Kilmarnock Betting Tips
Killie are the surprise new leaders at the top following the midweek action, but their stay at the head of the table is likely to be short lived – especially as the Old Firm duo both have a game or two each in hand. Celtic’s stalemate away at Motherwell still leaves Brendan Rodgers’ men with six wins from their last eight unbeaten games, while they’ve netted an average of over three goals per game across these.
They should possess the firepower to put an end to the run of four clean sheets that their visitors have put together, and Killie should fear their record on home turf this season. Indeed, they’ve won 12 of 13 unbeaten matches at Celtic Park, with the one exception coming in Europe, while they kept a clean sheet in seven of the last nine of these.
Hearts v Motherwell Betting Tips
Hearts finally stopped the rot with a draw away at St. Johnstone in their last outing, having lost their previous four matches, and they’ll hope to go one better against a Motherwell side that have been erratic this term. The visitors have been extremely poor travellers on a consistent basis as they’ve lost five of seven road trips, with the two exceptions coming over the bottom two, Dundee and St. Mirren.
That’s not particularly impressive given those two are essentially in a mini league of their own down in the basement, and excluding those expected wins, they’ve shipped 16 goals across their other five away days. For all their struggles of late, only the current top two have triumphed over Hearts at Tynecastle, while they’ve gone W16-D5-L4 in all competitions at home over the past 12 months.
