Saracens v Gloucester Preview – Premiership Rugby Semi-Final

Jim Hamilton and Andy Goode Preview the Premiership rugby semi-final clash between Saracens and Gloucester.

Jim Hamilton And Andy Goode

It’s play-off time in the Premiership as Saracens look to advance through to a fifth final in six years when they welcome Gloucester in the early semi-final kick-off. The last time the Cherry and Whites featured in a Premiership final was way back in the 2006/07 season, however under the guidance of coach Johan Ackermann, a former Springbok that guided the Lions to three consecutive Super Rugby finals, they have every chance of booking their Twickenham ticket if they bring their best game and more to Allianz Park.

All eyes will be on the fly-half dual as Danny Cipriani and Owen Farrell go head-to-head. Cipriani has been in outstanding form during the 2018/19 campaign which has seen him secure the accolade of Premiership player of the season and another good showing here has to bring him into Eddie Jones’ World Cup plans? Farrell may not have been at his best this season, however we all know he is the man for the big occasion and will be at his physical best come Saturday.

While past form becomes irrelevant in this knock-out clash, Gloucester will draw confidence from their 30-24 win over Saracens the last time the teams met. Jim Hamilton and Andy Goode bring you their preview to the clash while we bring you plenty of value with our enhanced odds which can be found in our FanBoosts section.
