So a promotion spot and relegation spot have already been filled in the Championship after an action-packed Easter break.
Congratulations to Fulham and commiserations to Derby, but who will be joining them in their new divisions?
Relegations can be confirmed and play-off spots secured in another huge round of games in the second tier this weekend.
As always, I’m Ryan Dilks from the Second Tier Podcast and these are my key fixtures and top tips ahead of this weekend’s Championship action.
Friday 19:45 – Huddersfield v Barnsley
This is a Yorkshire derby which could secure the fates of both sides.
Huddersfield can guarantee themselves a top 6 finish with a win here; although that seems nailed on anyway.
Meanwhile, anything less than a win for Barnsley and they’ll be relegated.
The Tykes did have an upturn in form around February to give themselves a chance of staying up after a torrid season, but that’s dwindled and League One is sharply on the horizon.
Take into account their horrendous away results too (15 losses in 18 games) and I’d expect Huddersfield to demote their rivals on Friday night.
I’ll go for a Lee Nicholls clean sheet as well.
Ryan’s pick – Huddersfield to Win to Zero @ 8/5

Saturday 12:30 – Luton v Blackpool
Luton’s play-off place will be all but booked if they get 3 points in this early kick-off.
Nathan Jones’ side had a minor wobble after returning from the international break but put those fears aside with wins against Cardiff and an in-form Nottingham Forest.
They welcome a Blackpool side fresh off the back of thrashing a hapless Birmingham City 6-1.
However, they weren’t in the greatest of nick prior to that, having failed to win in 5 and this is a much sterner test for the Tangerines.
Luton have won 25 points from a possible 30 at Kenilworth Road this calendar year and should get another victory here.
Ryan’s pick – Luton Town to Win and BTTS @ 10/3
Saturday 15:00 – Bournemouth v Fulham
Scott Parker will be hoping this is a Premier League game next season after the Cottagers secured promotion in the week.
But Bournemouth still have a lot of work to do to make sure of that and need a positive result here.
Forest are hot on the heels of the Cherries who managed their first win in four against Coventry on Easter Monday.
It’s difficult to predict how Fulham will treat the rest of the season though – will they continue playing their strongest XI or will they give minutes to fringe players?
We’ll have to wait and see but I’ll go for a draw here, which wouldn’t be a bad result for Bournemouth.
Ryan’s pick – Score draw @ 17/5
Saturday 15:00 – Peterborough v Forest
Forest continue to be the Championship’s form side.
6 wins from 7 league games indicate they’re going to push Bournemouth all the way for automatic promotion and Steve Cooper will be wanting 3 points here.
That would have seemed a simple task not long ago but Peterborough have much improved under Grant McCann.
The Cambridgeshire side look destined for League One but have won more games in their last 6 than in their previous 24.
They’ve shown more attacking intent and can give Forest a game, but I’m still expected a Reds win.
Ryan’s pick – Nottingham Forest to Win and BTTS @ 5/2
Monday 19:30 – Preston v Blackburn
Blackburn are in a very strange position right now.
Tony Mowbray’s side are only 3 points off the Play-offs but if you ask any Rovers fan whether they’ll get there, the answer from the vast majority will be no.
That’s mainly down to a major drop-off in form; they’ve only won twice since the end of January and they look a shell of their former selves.
Ryan Lowe’s Preston have had a mixed end to the season but will be well up for this game.
I fancy them to get the better of their Lancashire rivals here and just about kill off their Play-off hopes.
Ryan’s pick – Nottingham Forest to Win @ 7/4
