The return of a local lad at long last has Burnley supporters looking forward to the 2019/20 Premier League season with cautious optimism.

Jay Rodriguez, 30, completed his return to the Lancashire club after a seven-year absence earlier in the summer following a reported £10m move from Championship side West Bromwich Albion.

Rodriguez, who scored 41 goals in 129 appearances during a five-year spell at the club, has signed a two year deal and the return  of a Burnley academy graduate to his hometown club has their supporters gushing with pride.

“Jays a Burnley lad, went to Barden High School but been away for seven years, everyones excited to have him back.
