Rangers are back at Ibrox this weekend when they take on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership. Form Labs bring you their betting preview and tips for the game while we bring you plenty of betting value for the weekend’s football with our selection of enhanced odds.
Hibs Recent Form
Hibs remain unbeaten in the league under Paul Heckingbottom, winning six of 10 games, including stalemates with both of the Old Firm duo at Easter Road.
They’ve been solid at the back having conceded more than a single strike on just one occasion, but likewise, they’re not scoring goals for fun either as the only side they netted more than twice against was rock-bottom Dundee before the split in the table.
This should prove a fairly tight encounter then, though the Gers will fancy their chances at Ibrox having put up a four-game winning streak.
Rangers Recent Form
It’s just the second time this season that Rangers have won four on the trot, matching last season, but stringing together a sequence of victories is something they’ll need to do more often if they’re to challenge for the title next term.
They have however lost just once in 13 outings – against Celtic – as they won nine of these, while they also kept eight clean sheets.
That defensive solidity should help keep the overall output down here and though they’re the top scorers in the division, they’ve netted over twice as many goals when facing bottom-half sides compared with top-half outfits this term.
In fact, three-quarters of their matches hosting that upper bracket of teams have seen fewer than three strikes, while Hibs will at the very least make their hosts work hard for the three points.
Rangers v Hibs Betting Tips
Steven Gerrard’s men appear on the short side against a team yet to suffer defeat in the league under new management.
Indeed, each of the three head-to-heads between these two this season has fished in a stalemate, with two finishing 1-1 and the other goalless, though with Rangers enjoying home advantage, we’d rather back the visitors on an attractive handicap rather than plumping for the draw.
In fact, Hibs have only lost by more than one goal in three of their 35 matches this term, with two of those coming against Celtic before Brendan Rodgers’ departure, and we’d be surprised if they went down by more than one goal.
