Brighton v Chelsea Betting Tips
Brighton ended a run of three games without a victory with heartening wins over bottom-six outfits Huddersfield and Palace, but they’ve since worryingly gone down to Burnley and they’ll be pleased to return to the Amex where they’re much stronger.
They’ve even beaten United there for the second season running, though the Red Devils haven’t exactly excelled this term and the Seagulls have lost their other encounters with the ‘Big Six’ home or away against Liverpool, Spurs and City. Chelsea complete the top four, and against such teams Chris Hughton’s men have gone W1-D1-L9 since the start of last season, while in addition they lost this fixture 4-0 last term.
Chelsea appear back on track after their 2-0 win over title favourites City last weekend, and though they face MOL Vidi midweek in the Europa League, the Hungarians aren’t the most testing of opponents and Chelsea can play their B team safe in the knowledge that the group is already theirs.
The Blues don’t have much in the way of injury concerns at present, but opponents Brighton will have to welcome them without centre-back Shane Duffy who is suspended. He’s only missed two games since their promotion to the Premier League, with one of those last weekends’ defeat to Burnley.
Chelsea have won seven of eight unbeaten matches against current bottom-half sides under Maurizio Sarri, winning by at least two clear goals in six, so shouldn’t encounter any major problems here.
Southampton v Arsenal Betting Tips
Ralph Hasenhuttl hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts as Southampton manager as his side went down at Cardiff, and on the evidence on that performance – especially in the first half where the Bluebirds squandered various chances – the Austrian has his work cut out for him.
Southampton’s sole victory this term has come over a Palace side missing Wilfried Zaha that day, which is pretty much a guaranteed three points, and they’re currently on a run of seven defeats from 11 winless matches. In fact, they’ve lost seven out of nine winless games against top-half sides as they conceded at least twice in all but one of these games, while against just the four teams above Arsenal, they’ve lost by a combined score of 15-2.
Southampton v Arsenal Preview, Betting Tips And Enhanced Odds
The Gunners have problems at the back with Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos suspended, as well as a long term injury to Rob Holding. However, only Huddersfield have netted fewer goals than the Saints this term and their top scorer Danny Ings remains a slight doubt for this fixture.
They could also lose any thrust from their full-backs with Ryan Bertrand and Cedric Soares also doubts, but regardless of any consolation strike they might be able to muster, Arsenal should have too much going forwards with only the insatiable Man City netting more goals than them this term.
Liverpool v Manchester United Betting Tips
The Reds secured a massive result midweek and that’ll certainly hand them confidence and momentum heading into this game, while Mo Salah in particular must be raring to go again after netting four times in two matches to silence his critics.
It remains to be seen whether Klopp utilizes the Egyptian in a central role as he has of late or returns him to the wide areas in order to pack the midfield, but whatever personnel Klopp elects to deploy, you can be sure that there will be multiple goal threats out there on the pitch.
Man Utd have kept just the single clean sheet across eight road trips in the league, which came against Burnley, as they’ve shipped nearly two per game on their travels.
They’ve emerged victorious in just one of their last five away and conceded a combined five times against Chelsea and City in their two major away tests, and Liverpool certainly have the firepower to cause them damage like those two.
Liverpool v Manchester United Premier League Preview – Aldridge and McClair
The Reds only netted three or more goals on three occasions across their first 12 fixtures, but they’ve subsequently done so in three of four games as they’ve started to click in the final third.
Indeed, their 1-0 win over Napoli could have been by a wider margin had Sadio Mane brought his shooting boots along. Given Man Utd still have various defenders lacking fitness, we’d have to back Klopp’s forwards to continue their recent form.
