Tottenham v Wolves Betting Tips
Spurs are now Liverpool’s closest pursuers after 11 goals in back-to-back victories over Everton and Bournemouth. They’ve won five on the spin since defeat in the North London Derby and playing with such confidence, it’s impossible to oppose them. Indeed, three of their four defeats this term have been at the hands of ‘Big Six’ opposition, while at Wembley, they’ve won 13 consecutive games when excluding visits form Liverpool and Man City.
The more pragmatic Nuno surely won’t allow the hosts as much space as recent opposition have. Wolves went a respectable W1-D3-L2 against the ‘Big Six’ in the first half of the season, but noticeably, those two defeats were at the hands of Liverpool and Spurs. Although we’re not expecting the whipping that Bournemouth and Everton recently received, Spurs just look too strong for their visitors.
Leicester v Cardiff Betting Tips
Not many, including us, gave Leicester much chance in their last two games, but the Foxes defied logic to take maximum points from fixtures with Chelsea and Man City. Having previously been under pressure for his job, Claude Puel can expect a vibrant atmosphere at the King Power and we anticipate they’ll kick on here. Indeed, they’re unbeaten hosting bottom-six sides since 2016/17 (W8-D6), while they’ve won eight of 12 at home versus promoted sides since they returned to the top-flight two seasons prior.
Cardiff earned a plucky goalless draw at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day but in truth, Palace were wasteful having amassed 31 shots over the 90-minutes. It was just the Bluebirds second point on the road this season, with the other coming at rock bottom Huddersfield, and so we expect them to fall short against the quality of the likes of Jamie Vardy and James Maddison.
Liverpool v Arsenal Betting Tips
Things couldn’t have gone better for Liverpool over the festive period as six unanswered goals against Newcastle and Wolves and back-to-back defeats for Man City has seen them stretch their lead over their main title rival to seven points. They’re six ahead of Spurs in second so a first Premier League title is very much theirs to lose now. Their next two fixtures hosting Arsenal and then travelling to City will have a huge say in the final outcome, but such has been their form at Anfield, we expect them to head to the Etihad with another three points in the bag.
Indeed, the only side to leave Merseyside with a point this season is City, as the Reds have brushed everyone else aside. They’ve conceded just twice here this term and with their defence so much stronger than Arsenals, we can only see one outcome. The Gunners are without a clean sheet on the road under Unai Emery, but while they’ve been able to outscore weaker opponents, that’s highly unlikely to happen here. Although they’ve improved under the Spaniard, they’ve still lost at Chelsea and drew at Mourinho’s United, meaning Arsenal have lost nine of 12 winless trips to fellow ‘Big Six’ teams since 2016/17.
