Mensur Suljovic v James Wade
There’s nothing to split these two statistically this year. Both have won four of their nine matches in the Premier League and overall are both averaging 97. James Wade’s checkout % is slightly higher with 42% v 41% but the difference is negligible. However, it’s difficult to see why Mensur Suljovic is the outsider when he leads their head-to-head 10-5, winning seven of the last nine.
Michael Smith v Peter Wright
Bottom plays 2nd bottom here with both players in poor form with just 5 wins in 18 between them. There isn’t anything to separate them based on their averages for the year – 97 each – but Peter Wright leads the head-to-head 15 – 8 (one draw) yet is the underdog. Michael Smith has lost two more matches, so Snakebite is favoured with the draw onside.
Rob Cross v Daryl Gurney
Daryl Gurney is the form player on the tour at the moment, winning the German Darts Championship at the weekend after making the final of Players Championship 7. He beat Rob Cross en-route to the title in Germany and their head-to-head now stands at 4-4, but 3-2 to Gurney in ranking events. Backed by the Belfast crowd in his home country, Superchin is the bet.
Michael van Gerwen v Gerwyn Price
Both men were beaten by Keegan Brown at the weekend in Germany but there was a significant difference in tournament performance which encapsulates both men’s levels. MVG averaged 108.10 to Price’s 96.65. The Iceman has won 75% of his matches this year but only three in the Premier League. Mighty Mike leads the head-to-head 15-0, including winning both of their meetings in the Premier League 7-2 and 7-3.
