Paul Robinson’s Carabao Cup Tips: ‘Safe’ Passage For PL Top Six

The former England and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper gives us his views on this week's Carabao Cup third round action, with a special bet exclusive to FansBet customers!

Paul Robinson

After another very interesting weekend of Premier League action it’s time to turn our attention once again to the Carabao Cup with the big boys arriving to the table.

There is only one all Premier League tie with Brighton playing host to Aston Villa, with all the rest of the top tier sides at risk of a ‘giant-killing’ facing off to teams in the lower divisions.

Looking through the list of fixtures it should be pretty straightforward for most of the Premier League teams but given recent form there are three real banana skins that stand out for me.

South-Coast Derby, Forest ‘Cupset’ & Silva’s Last Chance

BANANA SKINS FOR PREM BIG BOYS?

An underperforming Manchester United at home against Rochdale should be straight forward on paper but this is a paper-thin United squad under pressure against their neighbours who have nothing to lose, you just never know.

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to fire this season and away against lowly Colchester United isn’t the most welcoming of ties.

Grimsby Town travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. The last time the two teams met was in 1996 in the FA Cup when Grimsby held Chelsea to a draw at Glanford Park before eventually losing the replay 4-1.

All three should offer a safe passage through for the Premier League big hitters’ boys but given recent results and performances who knows?

There will be some real value in backing the underdogs.

Looking across the fixtures as a whole I’m going to put a special bet together for FansBet customers.

The current top six in the Premier League all to win in their ties on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Liverpool, Man City, Leicester City, Arsenal, West Ham and Bournemouth all to win

The unstoppable Liverpool are away at MK Dons with champions City coming off the back of an eight-nil victory against Watford are at Preston North End.

Leicester City are away in what seems a pretty straightforward game against Luton Town with Arsenal playing host to Nottingham Forest.

West Ham who have had an excellent start to the season travel to Oxford and finally the surprise package Bournemouth are away to Burton Albion.

If you like me fancy all of the top six to progress to the next round of the Carabao Cup FansBet are offering a special price of 8.00!
