Salah's potential return will give the Egyptians hope as they face Uruguay at the Central Stadium

Egypt v Uruguay – Friday 15th June, 13:00, BBC One

With potential the return of a fully fit goalscorer by the name of Salah, Egypt will be looking to take something from the opening day game, although they do have more winnable games to come in the group stages. Uruguay will likely see the Pharaohs as their closest group rivals too and won’t want to take too many risks here, and having only conceded two goals from their last five matches, keeping four clean sheets, a match shorn of critical chances is likely to proceed. Indeed, with 25 of Egypt’s last 32 games seeing just two strikes or less, Under 2.5 Goals looks like banker material for this encounter.

In fact, Uruguay have won 14 of their last 22 games when facing teams we have ranked outside the world’s top 30, only conceding nine goals across these, and with plenty of experience within their ranks should perform a professional job. Oscar Tabarez’s side have geared up for the tournament with three straight win to nil’s, while their less illustrious opponents have lost three of their last five, only managing one goal in their last four. Given that sole strike came against Kuwait, we’d expect the Uruguayans to win to nil.

Under 2.5 Goals at 1.55

Uruguay to win to nil at 2.15
