Sunderland are short priced favourites to win League One and get back into the Championship and this will be a good test of their credentials as Charlton had an impressive season last term in 6th. They managed some good results on their travels to as they won at Shrewsbury and Rotherham and drew at Wigan and so Sunderland look very much on the short side at odds on for a club that’s been in a downward spiral for a while now.
The Black Cats have won only three of 33 home games since 2017 and so they look an obvious lay at the prices. Charlton kept a clean sheet in three of those four trips to top-four sides last term and so as well as backing them on the Double Chance, we’re going to back them to keep a clean sheet, whilst the away win to nil looks a juicy price at 17/4. Sunderland have lost a lot of their best attacking players with the likes of Khazri, Borini, Lens and Asoro all leaving the club and so they may well struggle to trouble this Charlton defence.
