Steven Gerrard will want his Rangers team to finish on a high when they travel to Kilmarnock this weekend in the final round of the Scottish Premiership. Kilmarnock have plenty to play for in this one as they look to secure third place in the league. Form Labs bring you their betting preview and tips for the game while we bring you the value with our enhanced odds.
Old Firm Win
The Gers’ second taste of success over Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox this season may not have counted for anything in terms of the final standings, but it does at least provide hope that the Bhoys minus Brendan Rodgers can be challenged more effectively next term.
Jon Flanagan was fortunate to avoid picking up Rangers’ 13th red card of the season for elbowing Celtic captain Scott Brown, but although he’s likely to miss out here after being charged over the incident, it doesn’t distract from what was an otherwise magnificent and dominating performance where they were simply better in every department.
That was Rangers’ sixth win on the trot, during which time they’ve conceded just the solitary goal and bagged 14 of their own, while they also led at the break in five of these games too.
That should concern Killie, who have struggled for output in the final third and indeed, their 48 goals this season is the lowest amongst the top five in the table – 33 short of top scorers Rangers.
However, they also hold the best defensive record outside of the Old Firm duo, as at least one team has failed to score in 13 of their last 14 matches across all competitions.
Kilmarnock v angers Betting Tips
Steve Clarke’s outfit drew a blank on eight occasions over this spell, as well as also shutting the opposition out eight times too, so it would be a surprise if this games saw plenty of goals for both teams.
Although both teams to score (no) is a decent price in itself, the Gers are on a real hot streak and are in much better shape than their counterparts at present.
With that in mind, we have to side with the visitors to rack up another win to nil.
