After losing to SPAL last time out in the league and being dumped out of the Champions League by Ajax, it is probably fair to say that this hasn’t been the best of weeks for Juventus. Massimiliano Allegri is going to have to rely on his big names to pick the squad up and reset for the remainder of what will be yet another title winning domestic season, beginning with the visit of Fiorentina this weekend. Form Labs return with their betting preview and tips for the game and don’t forget we have plenty of value waiting for you in our FanBoosts section.
Another Domestic Title This Weekend?
Not even Cristiano Ronaldo (despite opening the scoring) could steer Juve past a youthful and vibrant Ajax side in the Champions League, though having failed to land the Serie A title last weekend, they should lift the trophy hosting Fiorentina, even if it’s scant consolation after the main prize has slipped away.
They only need a point to complete the job having already done the double over Napoli this season, with Serie A decided by head-to-head results if two teams are level come the end of the campaign.
However, the disappointment of past eliminations certainly hasn’t prevented the Bianconeri from winning their next match before, beating Sampdoria 3-0 at home last term following their exit at the hands of Real Madrid, while they thumped Torino 4-1 in 2016 after being dumped out by Bayern (Juve reached the 2015 and 2017 Champions League finals and so had no next game in those seasons).
Juve v Fiorentina Betting Tips
Fiorentina’s form will hardly have the hosts quaking in their boots either as they’re just W1-D8-L3 over 12 fixtures since the start of February across all competitions, with Vincenzo Montella recently being drafted in to replace Stefano Pioli at the helm.
Both teams scored in nine of these games, including six score draws and in fact, 13 of the Viola’s 17 stalemates this season have seen both teams find the net, with eight finishing 1-1 and four ending 3-3, while the other was 2-2.
Achieving another draw might be a tall order for the visitors given they’ve lost eight of the past nine head-to-heads across all competitions since April 2015, but we’re not expecting Juve to unleash their frustration in the form of a goal glut either.
Fiorentina have only lost by more than the single goal in two of their 35 matches in all tournaments this season and can keep the margins tight by registering on the board themselves.
Juve have only kept three clean sheets in their last seven at home, against the bottom-three sides in the league, while Giorgio Chiellini remains a doubt ahead of this fixture and the Old Lady have conceded in 13 of the 18 games he’s hasn’t started in all competitions this term.
