Is there another twist in the tale?

Premier League Preview

Gareth McGrattan

With six games of the season left, 13 points between 1st and 2nd, what if City don’t win the League?

It’s unlikely but you never know. A tough away fixture at White Hart Lane looms for Pep Guardiola’s men and defeat here would give United the chance to put pressure on their rivals, providing they can see past a struggling West Brom side.

With little over a month left of the season, we are getting close to finding out who will be exiting the top flight. With Southampton and Stoke City’s form at present, it’s looking like their days are numbered this year. Although this is football and things can change in the blink of an eye.

Southampton vs Chelsea

As the rumours were quickly put the bed of the Conte sacking midweek, defeat here could mean they start to resurface. After giving Arsenal a run for their money at the Emirates, the Saints look to continue that form and fight for their place in the Premier League. Priced at 33/10 with Fansbet, defeating Chelsea is a realistic possibility. The visitors have all but lost their top four challenge, after a defeat to Spurs two weeks ago.

Burnley vs Leicester

At the start of the season Burnley would have bit your hand off to be in this league position. They are five points off an automatic qualifying spot for the Europa League and have a great chance if they can win their remaining six games. Priced at 43/20 a draw would be my tip for this.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

The Eagles are still three points from safety and are not out of the woods yet. Defeat here and a win for Stoke would plunge them into back in the relegation mix..Fansbet have priced Palace at 20/21 but my money would be going on Brighton at 33/10

Huddersfield vs Watford

If you’re having a flutter on this game I would steer in the direction of both teams to score. Both sides are pretty evenly matched, although Huddersfield have been in terrible form of late but are too good a team to be in England’s second tier. Teams fighting relegation usually raise their game, so anything can happen.

Swansea vs Everton

After a good draw at home to Liverpool in their last game, an away tie at Swansea is up next for the Toffees. A must win game for the Welsh side who are still not guaranteed to be safe, at 31/20 Swansea get my vote on this one

Liverpool vs Bournemouth

After the heroics of Tuesday night, the Reds will need to make their way back from cloud nine to host the cherries on Saturday afternoon. Liverpool are heavy favourites at 4/17 but my money will be going on Bournemouth at 11/1 They are a difficult side to beat and are no stranger to causing the big teams problems.

Tottenham vs Manchester City

Man City have lost the three games in a row and they could have done with an easier opportunity to get back to winning ways. Priced at 9/5, it is worth a punt if you think they can bounce back for their recent form. The home team who seen off a doomed Stoke side last time out, are looking to pip United to 2nd place and guarantee themselves Champions League football next year.

Newcastle vs Arsenal

Newcastle will be brimming with confidence coming into this one after winning their last three games on the bounce. The Gunners having only travelled back from their away tie against CSKA Moscow will be not be happy about another away tie in the North West. At 11/10 Arsenal are heavy favourites but I can see the Geordies taking this one.

Manchester United vs West Brom

At a massive 17/1 the bookmakers haven’t given Baggies much chance but at this stage of the season, the incentive is much greater. Teams usually up their game under the pressure like this but I can’t see West Brom getting a result at Old Trafford. If the Red Devils play like they did at Eastlands, I would be surprised if they didn’t put at least four past them.

West Ham vs Stoke

After a valiant effort against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, West Ham are good value at Evens when the comeback of Monday night football returns. Stoke are in big trouble having not won a game since the 20th Jan. However, Fansbet are not writing them off completely at 57/20.

My featured accumulator this week consists of;

Swansea 31/20

Burnley to draw 43/20

Man City 9/5

West Ham 57/20
