After All Weather meetings at Newcastle and Kempton, we see the first turf action of the flat season on Wednesday when Yarmouth hosts a 10-race card.
With the recent dry weather, we have been enjoying ground conditions will certainly be on the fast side at the seaside venue.
The 3-year-old novice stakes has been split into 2 divisions and both look to have some interesting newcomers making their debuts against the once run pair of Enemy (3.05) and Higher Kingdom (3.40) who will be looking to build upon the promise they showed last year.
Over at Kempton the highlights on the card look to be the Group 3 Classic Trial (2.45) and the Fillies Listed Stakes (3.55) where previous 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook will be taking on a pair of interesting high-class runners from the John Gosden stable.

An interesting looking 3-year old sprint handicap for the grade with a couple of lightly raced types looking to show improved form now stepping into handicaps.
Newyorkstateofmind finished 2nd on 3 occasions last season but finally got rewarded for those consistent efforts with a victory here over course and distance on his final start.
He was prominent throughout that day before staying on strongly. He has a 7lb rise in the weights to defy but has a nice stall in 1 and looks the type who could improve again.

Griggy has to be respected here for the partnership of Sean Curran and Adam Kirby who have teamed up to plenty of success in the last year or so.
He posted a solid effort when last seen finishing 2nd here but that was over a furlong further and he has it to prove he is just as effective over this shorter trip.
The consistent You’re Cool has finished 3rd on his last 3 starts but today`s course and distance looks more suitable. Down now to a mark of 74 and having won fresh in the past a good effort is expected.
Selection: You’re Cool

Seprani has some strong enough place form after a break to suggest she could be ready to strike first time up this season.
Trainer Amy Murphy has a good record with her runners at Yarmouth (5 wins from 15 runners last year) and this mare could add to that tally racing from below her last winning mark with conditions to suit.
Selection: Seprani
Kempton: 2:45

A really interesting group 3 contest where the reputation of some nicely bred 3-year olds are at stake. The William Haggas trained filly Born With Pride was an impressive winner of a listed event on debut at Newmarket and has to be respected on that effort.
She has different conditions to cope with on this occasion though and at the likely price is opposed on this occasion. Max Vega improved on all 3 of his starts last season ended his campaign with success in the group 3 Zetland however it’s another Lope De Vega colt which is expected to come out on top today.
Hypothetical represents the Gosden / Dettori outfit and this 550,000gns yearling made a big impression when a convincing winner on his sole start to date. He will need to show significant improvement to take this but his trainer knows they type needed to win this event and he looks to have another solid contender.
Selection: Hypothetical NAP

Maydanny looks a potential improver now stepping into handicap company for the Mark Johnston yard.
This well-bred Dubawi colt should be better than an 80 rated horse in time but does have to prove himself fully effective under these ground conditions.
Previous course and distance winner Balgair has no such worries with conditions, with a win and second-place finish to his name on his seasonal reappearance in the last 2 seasons suggests first time up could be the best time to catch him.
Selection: Balgair
