Nap – Golden Fountain 8.10 Wolverhampton

A few lightly raced types again take each other on here but in reality, a race that probably is not going to take too much winning. Mark Johnston runners do well on their 2nd start in handicaps and Golden Fountain showed enough potential last time out when not getting home over 2 furlongs further than today`s mile to think he would be in the winner’s enclosure soon. Dropped 3lbs for that effort and with his jockey taking off an extra 5lbs he looks weighted to go very close.

Next Best – Latent Heat 2.30 Southwell

3 moderate runs in Ireland last year but made a very promising start on stable debut at Wolverhampton latest. Tony Carroll always does well with his runners at Southwell (20% strike rate last 12 months) so knows the type of horse to act on the unique fibresand surface. Elisha Whittingham takes over today claiming 7lbs and the partnership are 5 winners from 15 runners at the track.

Each Way – Redzone 7.40 Wolverhampton

Trainer Bryan Smart has not brought too many runners down from his Yorkshire base recently so it`s interesting he makes the trip with Redzone here. His 4 recent a/w starts all suggested the step up to 7f will suit and this looks an easier opportunity than his 2 recent races at Newcastle.
