Nap – Fair Kate 5.10 Taunton

In what hopefully will be a good day for Richard Johnson, Fair Kate is taken to bounce back to the form she shown at Newbury 2 starts back. A shade disappointing last time out see seemed to travel to keen before maybe finding the ground not to her liking. This looks an easier race and with Johnson back on board, for a yard he has a 20% strike rate with all looks set for another a victory.

Next Best – Franigane 5.25 Wetherby

Makes his rules debut today after 3 runs in points last year. Finished 2^nd in the latter of those and whilst that form is hard to asses, we have reason to expect a good run today. His sire Coastal Path has a 30% strike rate in bumpers in the last couple of years and trainer Harry Whittington has a reasonable enough strike rate with his horses in bumpers including 1 win 3 places from 6 runners here. The stable is going well at the moment and Gavin Sheehan comes in for the ride who has a 25% strike rate with runners from the yard in the last year.

Each Way – Dalaman 4.00 Taunton

A couple of last time out winners make this look competitive at first glance but both have something to prove and at the prices it looks best to look elsewhere. Dalaman ran well last time out in a race that’s working out well and with todays step up in trip likely to be more to his liking he should go close. Richard Johnson takes over in the saddle which has to be a positive and the Rebecca Curtis yard is also in good form with a couple of winners in the last 2 weeks.
