With Gladbach and Frankfurt trying to spoil the title party for Bayern and Dortmund while fighting it out for the final Champions League spot, Bayer who are also involved in that scrap could sneak through. Form Labs return with their betting preview and tips for the game while we bring you plenty of value with our selection of enhanced odds.
Leverkusen Chasing Fourth
Leverkusen still have every chance of landing the final Champions League spot as although they trail fourth-placed Gladbach on goal difference (-2), they face 10th-placed Hertha Berlin, while the Foals host Dortmund.
Moreover, they’re without doubt the form team in the Bundesliga at the minute, having won four of their last five unbeaten outings, including a 6-1 humiliation of Frankfurt just two weeks ago.
Leverkusen Recent Form
Despite winning back-to-back matches in the league for just the third time this season, it is the first Hertha have done so since early December.
Moreover, prior to those victories over both Stuttgart and Augsburg (both in the bottom five) they had lost five of seven winless matches as the better sides typically came up trumps.
Indeed, including a 3-1 defeat in the reverse fixture back in December, the hosts have lost six of their nine matches against the breakaway top-half of the table, while their only victory during this period came over a faltering Gladbach side on a run of three defeats from four winless matches.
By contrast, the visitors remain unbeaten against bottom-half outfits this term, while they’ve won 10 of the last 11 such encounters since early December, including all five on the road.
Hertha v Leverkusen Betting Tips
This looks set to be an entertaining affair given that Hertha have seen at least three goals in seven of their last 10, including 11 in total across their last two outings, though seven of those were against them.
Leverkusen have actually seen a minimum of four strikes in six of their last nine and five or more in five.
Additionally, the Bundesliga generally produces high-scoring encounters on the final day as over the last five seasons, 56% of Matchday 34 games have seen Over 3.5 Goals, compared to a mere 32% over the rest of the regular seasons.
However, the market seems to have adjusted to that already and so it makes better sense to side with a goalscorer.
Only three teams have scored more than the visitors this season at all venues, and just two have netted more on the road. Given Kai Havertz’s current vein of form, he’d be our pick.
The German midfielder has six goals from as many games since the start of last month, scoring in all but one of them, while he also has four goals from his three career starts against Hertha.
