All Dortmund can do from now until the end of the season is keep winning and hope Bayern slip up. They remain very much in the title race being just a point adrift and an away trip to Freiburg must be seen as another opportunity for three points. Form Labs break down the action with their betting preview and tips and if value is what you are after we have plenty of it from across all the big European leagues which can be found in our FanBoosts section.

Freiburg Without Nils Petersen

It is the best possible time to play Freiburg as they are still without joint-top scorer Nils Petersen. Since the start of last season they’ve won only 10% of the 21 games he’s not started, as they’ve failed to score more than a single strike in 20 of those matches.

In fact, this season alone they’ve gone W6-D6-L6 from their 18 matches with him, netting an average of 1.67 goals per game, as they scored at least three times in four of those victories.

That compares to W1-D5-L5 in the 11 without him, as their only victory came against 17th-placed Nurnberg, whilst they’ve failed to score more than a single strike in any of them, averaging just 0.82 gpg.

Freiburg v Dortmund Betting Tips

The head-to-heads between these sides is certainly in favour of Dortmund, as they’ve won 13 of 15 unbeaten matches against their hosts since 2010/11 by an aggregate scoreline of 42-7.

Indeed, other than Petersen’s brace at the Westfalenstadion last term, no Freiburg player has found their way on to the scoreboard against the Black and Yellows since September 2016, while the hosts have lost four of the five meetings at Schwarzwald-Stadion since 2012/13 as they failed to net a single goal.

Christian Streich’s men come here off the back of two straight defeats, with their last win coming six weeks ago.

By contrast, Lucien Favre’s side have won four of their last five as only Bayern got the better of them and although that was a humiliation, we expect them to bounce back even stronger with the title race very much still on.

Dortmund To Win To Nil At 2.75
