Here is the star-studded Scotland line-up for the FansBet Star Sixes tournament
Ryan Baldi  |  3rd December 2018

With a mixture of Old Firm heroes and Premier League veterans, the FansBet Star Sixes boasts a star-studded Scotland team.

After the success of the inaugural event in 2017, the six-a-side tournament will be back from 4-6 January at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, and the Scotland side is stacked with quality.

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson will be hoping to lead the Scottish team to success on home soil.

Ferguson, who enjoyed two successful spells at Ibrox either side of a stint south of the border with Blackburn Rovers, is joined by former Premier League regulars Don Hutchison and James McFadden, as well as ex-Celtic stars Jackie McNamara, Simon Donnelly and Mark Burchill.

Barry Ferguson

With 45 senior Scotland caps and over 400 first-team appearances for Rangers, Ferguson was one of the most gifted Scottish players of his generation.

A box-to-box midfielder with natural leadership skills and boundless energy, he claimed 16 major honours in his career, including five Scottish Premiership titles and a League Cup with Birmingham City.

Mark Burchill

Emerging at Celtic as a prolific striker while still in his teens in the late ‘90s, Burchill went on to play for Birmingham City, Ipswich Town and Portsmouth in England.

He later re-established himself in the Scottish Premiership with spells at Hearts, Dunfermline and Kilmarnock, among others.

He then spent four seasons with Sheffield Wednesday before returning to Scottish football.

Robert “Rab” Douglas

A regular between the sticks with Livingstone and Dundee before getting his big break with Celtic, Douglas became a three-time Scottish champion during his time in Glasgow’s East End.

A commanding and agile goalkeeper, Douglas was capped 19 times by his country.
