With the FA Cup quarterfinals taking place this weekend only a handful of Premier League matches are taking place including Everton who welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park. Form Labs return with their betting preview and tips for the game and if you are after some more value then head over to our selection of enhanced odds for the game in our FanBoosts section.
Silva Feeling The Heat
Marco Silva is under some considerable pressure at Everton having gone W2-D1-L6 since mid-January, with the wins coming over bottom-three sides Huddersfield and Cardiff, while this run contained a defeat to Championship strugglers Millwall in the FA Cup and most recently they went down 3-2 to Newcastle at St. James’.
Even home form has deserted them as they’re just W2-D3-L4 at Goodison Park since the beginning of December in all competitions, including a mammoth 6-2 defeat at the hands of Spurs, and the Toffees’ record against ‘Big Six’ clubs in recent times leaves a lot to be desired.
Everton v Chelsea Betting Tips
Everton are winless in such games since the start of last season, losing 14 out of 20 winless encounters as Merseyside derbies have accounted for half of those stalemates, while 12 of those defeats have been by at least two clear goals.
They’ve lost four of six winless head-to-head encounters with Chelsea across all competitions since 2016/17, netting just a solitary goal as they’ve conceded 12 times, so it’s difficult to envisage them enjoying Sunday afternoon.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have been on a much better footing since their exit to Man Utd in the FA Cup a month ago, with a notable victory over Spurs, and having stabilized the ship, should come away with the full three points.
