England Under Pressure

England’s tournament hangs on a knife edge and a defeat here would see their fate out of their own hands.

They’ve been very poor in their last two matches, failing to chase down gettable totals as they’ve appeared to have no plan B.

They got to the top of the world rankings by blasting teams away on flat tracks, but the wickets at this World Cup have been sticky and tricky to score on and they’ve failed to adapt accordingly.

Carry on with their gung-ho attitude against arguably the best bowling attack in the tournament, and things could get ugly on Sunday.

India Remain Unbeaten

India successfully defended 268 against the West Indies to put them one victory away from the semis.

They remain the only unbeaten side of the tournament and unlike the hosts, they adapted to pitches by posting a score and defending it with highly skilled bowling.

We’re not expecting a run-fest here as the two matches to take place at Edgbaston have seen sub-250 totals chased down, but not until the final over.

That certainly favours India’s skill set and they are worthy favourites to back.

England v India Betting Tips

The Birmingham venue is receptive to spin, and India possess quality in this department. England much prefer pace on the ball and so we’ll take Yuz Chahal to be India’s top wicket taker. Only Imran Tahir and Shakib Al Hasan have as many wickets as they leggy amongst the spinners at this World Cup and he’s more consistent than his teammate Kuldeep Yadav.

It seems amazing that Virat Kohli doesn’t have a tournament century yet – but he has still top scored in their last two matches. He looked in superb nick on both occasions, and in a game of such significance, we expect the best in the world to step up.

India Win at 1.83

Virat Kohli Top Indian Batsman at 3.20

Yuz Chahal Top Indian Bowler at 3.70
