After thrashing Dortmund 5-0 last weekend Bayern Munich have all the momentum and a one-point lead at the top of the table going into the final stretch of the season. Bayern will be looking to press home their advantage further this weekend when they travel to Dusseldorf who come into this clash off the back of a 2-1 win over Hertha. Form Labs bring you their betting preview and tips for the game and as ever we have plenty of value in our FanBoosts section for you to take advantage of.
Bayern To Press Home The Advantage
By the time kick-off comes around, the Bavarians will likely have drifted back into second place with Dortmund hosting Mainz on Saturday afternoon.
However, that’s unlikely to affect Bayern given they’ve won the last six Bundesliga titles, while they hammered Lucien Favre’s men 5-0 at the Allianz last weekend.
That result means they’ve now won 14 of their 16 outings since December, winning both halves in eight. Meanwhile, having lost nine of their opening 14 outings and looking a certainty for the drop, Dusseldorf have miraculously turned their season around.
Indeed, they’ve won nine of their 14 matches since that poor run as they scored two or more in nine, including five wins form seven at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, and they’re by no means a guaranteed three points for any side.
Dusseldorf Recent Form
Friedhelm Funkel’s men are still a poor W3-D3-L9 from their 15 matches against the top half of the table, though they did beat Gladbach 3-1 in their last fixture here.
However, the Foals have seriously tailed off in the second half of the season, resulting in the announcement that head coach Dieter Hecking will leave at the end of the campaign, but we don’t want take too much away from Dusseldorf given they were up 3-0 at the break and looked in command throughout.
They even scored twice in defeat in their last outing at Wolfsburg and given Niko Kovac’s men have kept just two clean sheets from their last 14 road games across all domestic competitions, with both sides scoring in seven of their nine victories, the both teams to score market holds some appeal.
Dusseldorf v Bayern Betting Tips
However, Bayern have won an immense 33 of their 36 matches against promoted sides since 2010/11.
Both sides have found the net in six of the last nine, as one of the anomalies was in the reverse fixture between these sides when they drew 3-3 back in November, though the visitors have improved vastly since then.
With that in mind, the Bayern win and both teams to score has our backing.
