The Questions

Bayern Munich

Will Lewandowski or Neymar score?

Robert Lewandowski has had an incredible season in front of goal, finding the net an astonishing 55 times with one game still to play, and who would bet against him adding to that number on Sunday night?

As for Neymar, he ended the season with 39 goals in all competitions and 10 in the Champions League, making him joint highest scorer with Cristiano Ronaldo and teammate Lionel Messi in the competition.

So whoever ends up lifting the giant trophy after Sunday’s final, there’s every chance one of these goal machines will have had a say in the outcome.

Neymar

Will Mbappe or Gnabry score?

Kylian Mbappe’s season has been somewhat blighted by injuries and the Covid-19 outbreak, but that hasn’t stopped him scoring five times during PSG’s run to the final while in Ligue 1 he has found the net an astonishing 17 times in just 18 games.

Back in October Serge Gnabry scored four goals in Bayern’s 7–2 away win against Tottenham Hotspur as well as a brace against Chelsea in their 3-0 win in the round of 16.

With firepower like that, it’s hard to imagine not one of these marksmen adding to their tallies on Sunday.

Who will lift the trophy?

A win for Bayern would cap an incredible season for Hans Flick’s side, who have already secured the Bundesliga trophy and German Cup, and would see them complete a second treble in six seasons having last achieved that feat back in 2013.

As for PSG, it’s fair to say that this competition has eluded the French champions in recent years and despite domestic domination, will need to add the Champions League to their honours list if they are to be regarded as one of football’s elite teams.
