Mainz v Dortmund

We’re running out of superlatives for this Dortmund side having won eight of their 11 unbeaten matches this season. That includes six victories from their last seven as the last of these came against giants Bayern Munich, where they came from behind twice to win. That puts them four points clear at the top of the table and 12 ahead of Mainz already, and they look like extending that record given they’ve gained maximum points from their last three road trips.

Mainz have found some sort of form after winning their last two, though that followed a run of four defeats from six winless matches. It’s going to take a monumental performance to down Lucien Favre’s men in this form however, especially as the hosts have lost 10 of 14 matches against top-six sides since the start of last season (including both this term). Moreover, they’re having to resort to their third-choice keeper with Florian Miller and Rene Adler out, while midfielder Jean-Paul Boetius a slight doubt. Having lost 11 of their 14 league meetings with Dortmund since 2013/14, we don’t think they are up to it.

Bundesliga Goalscorer Betting Tips And Enhanced Odds – Week 12

Hertha Berlin v Hoffenheim

Hertha are in terrible form having failed to win in five, while they’ve lost their last two outings against Leipzig and 17th-placed Dusseldorf respectively. Both those defeats were by three goal margins and they look fairly desperate for points. Unfortunately for them, Hoffenheim travel to the Olympiastadion in great spirits having won each of their last four, thoroughly deserving their top-six spot. Indeed, excluding the five sides above them they’ve won six of their seven matches this season with five of them by two or more goals, including each of their last three on the road as they look a class above their hosts.

To make things worse, Hertha have been hampered by injuries with both centre backs and their left back being ruled out for this clash. It’s a worrying thought for their fans that if Dusseldorf could put four past them while Leipzig managed three – with their issues at the back – what can Hoffenheim do to them without it?

Schalke v Nurnberg

These two sides are level on 10 points near the foot of the table. It is Schalke who have been the more impressive of the two in recent matches though. The hosts lost each of their opening five matches but have since turned their season around to win half of their last six. Indeed, half of those came against tough top-seven sides as they lost to both Werder Bremen and Frankfurt but salvaged a draw at Leipzig. Up against the weaker bottom-six sides they don’t seem to have the same problems, winning both of their two outings by two clear goals.

Nurnberg have lost three of their last five winless matches, with the latest of these against one of the three teams below them as rock-bottom Stuttgart triumphed 2-0. They’ve struggled on the road too, losing three of five winless trips with their last two such defeats finishing 6-0 and 7-0. We expect Schalke to make it two from two against promoted sides this term after beating Dusseldorf earlier in the campaign, and against such a woeful defence climb back up the table.
