Liverpool need to win this one if they are to keep the heat on City at the top of the table, although they do take on a Bournemouth team that will be confident coming into this after their midweek win over Huddersfield ended a four-game losing streak. Form Labs bring you their betting tips for the game and don’t forget to check out our enhanced odds for all the big games in the Premier League and form around Europe.
Liverpool Lucky Midweek
Jurgen Klopp will know he got away with another lucky escape against Burnley midweek having come from behind in a game that could have easily gone wrong. That was the first time the German manager has opted to not start any of his attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah since May 2017, with the Reds preparing for this Bournemouth clash before their must win fixture with Napoli on Tuesday in a bid to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Bournemouth Will Be Competitive
The Cherries have proved very competitive this term as they won six of their opening 10 matches and although they’ve endured slight dip of four straight defeats following that, they recovered with a midweek success over Huddersfield. Those four losses don’t look quite so bad when we considering three of them came at the hands of ‘Big Six’ opposition, as they lost narrowly 2-1 hosting Arsenal and Man Utd, while a 3-1 defeat at the Etihad is better than most.
It has been well documented that Eddie Howe’s men don’t fare well against the ‘Big Six’. They’ve lost 31 of their 40 matches against such teams since their promotion to the Premier, including 15 of their 20 at the Vitality Stadium. Interestingly, they did manage to score in 13 of those games, while both teams have scored in six of their last seven on home turf this season against anybody.
Bournemouth v Liverpool Betting Tips
On the other side of the coin, this Liverpool side have won only three of their last eight road games in all competitions, with those victories coming against Huddersfield, Watford and Burnley, so we won’t be jumping on them at the prices in the outright alone. Instead, the best bet looks to be in backing them to win and both sides to score as five of their six league goals conceded this term have come on the road.
