Easy Group For Belgium

After impressing to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup last summer, Belgium appeared to have an easy route through to the inaugural UEFA Nations League finals as they were pitted in the easiest League A group alongside Switzerland and Iceland.

However, things didn’t go to plan as they unexpectedly lost 5-2 in Lucerne, although that remains only their second defeat in 34 outings and they’ve kicked off their Euro qualifiers with two comfortable wins over Russia and Cyprus.

Recent Form

Kazakhstan stunned Scotland 3-0 on the opening day, but their visitors on that occasion were in the final throes of Alex McLeish’s reign and without their star winger Ryan Fraser, while the Kazakhs were subsequently brought back down to earth with a 4-0 defeat hosting a poor-travelling Russia.

The previous time Kazakhstan faced anyone decent saw them lose 3-0 away in Poland during the World Cup qualifiers, and with the firepower Roberto Martinez’s side can offer, the scoreline here could well get ugly.

Belgium v Kazakhstan Betting Tips

Indeed, Kazakhstan are all the way down in 116th according to FIFA’s world rankings, and over the past five years the weakest teams the Red Devils have faced on home soil have been Saudi Arabia, Cyprus (twice), Gibraltar, Estonia and Andorra.

Only Gibraltar and Andorra are currently ranked lower than Kazakhstan, but Belgium still won these six matches by a combined score of 36-1, with all six seeing them triumph by at least four clear goals, as four saw them win by minimum of five strikes.

The last time these two met Belgium ran out 4-1 winners in 2011, but the hosts have only improved since then and their golden generation has now reached that perfect blend of youth and experience common to the best sides.

Belgium -4 Handicap At 2.55
