Sri Lanka ODI Aura Gone

It’s perhaps surprising to see Bangladesh as favourites for this game given Sri Lanka’s history as a force in limited Overs cricket but the heyday of Murali and co is long gone.

A rained off game against Pakistan has meant that Sri Lanka are in the top-half after three games and with Australia’s loss to India on Sunday there is an outside chance that they could sneak into the top-four.

Bangladesh Bowling A Weakness

Bangladesh were destroyed by England in their last game and their toothless attack is a worry.

They’ve given up 943 runs in their opening three matches and with little in the Bristol pitch for the bowlers, Sri Lanka’s underperforming batting line-up should get some confidence-inducing runs.

Sri Lanka will be without fast-bowler Nuwan Pradeep after he suffered a dislocation and a cut to his right finger in his man-of-the-match winning performance for their win over Afghanistan which makes us even keener on runs.

Bangladesh v Sri Lanka Betting Tips

Both teams, then, look much stronger batting than bowling so the market that jumps off the page is a century to be scored in the match. Kusal Perrera has so far looked the pick of the Sri Lanka batsmen.

Along with him, another who can score heavily is Shakib Al Hasan. Before Monday’s possible washout Bangladesh’s Shakib remains the tournaments top-run scorer.

The left-hander has already got a World Cup century which took his career total to eight ODI tons.

Recommendation: A Hundred Scored in Match – Yes 1.83
