The Premier League is back this weekend and so are my picks. Hopefully I can bag a few winners as the teams start to settle into the rhythm of the new season…
Chelsea to beat Cardiff
Maurizio Sarri has got off to a flyer at Stamford Bridge and I think he deserves a lot of credit due to the issues the club had over the summer and him coming in so late. They take on a Cardiff side who are gutsy, but will always struggle for goals this season. Home banker for me.
Watford to beat Man United
I love picking a game that’ll boost the odds of my treble and this week it’s high flyers Watford. I don’t think Javi Gracia could’ve even dreamed of this start for the Hornets but I think it has a great chance of continuing against a United side that still has plenty of issues despite that win at Burnley a fortnight ago. The momentum is with the home side and if they can keep a clean sheet I think they’ll have more than enough at home to net against that defence.
Everton to beat West Ham
West Ham have got off to a shocker and whilst I think Everton are still finding their feet under Marco Silva I think the home advantage will tell in this one. Pellegrini doesn’t seem to have any answers so far for the questions posed by having so many new signings and a trip to Goodison with that to contend with is always going to be difficult. It might be an improved performance, but I think the losing run will continue.
